Terms of Use

Daris provides a platform where teachers list lessons and students book and pay for them. Daris is not the provider of the lessons themselves; teachers are independent and responsible for the lessons they deliver.

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use Daris.

When a student requests a lesson, the teacher confirms it and both parties join a video room at the scheduled time. The teacher ends the lesson once it is complete. Times are shown in your local timezone but recorded in UTC.

Lesson prices are set by teachers and are snapshotted onto each booking at the time it is made. Payment is taken through Stripe and captured when the lesson is completed. Display currencies shown around the site are approximate conversions for convenience only — you are always charged in the currency stated at checkout.

Bookings may be cancelled subject to the cancellation rules shown at the time of booking. Where a booking is cancelled before the lesson is delivered, any authorised payment is released or refunded as applicable.

Teachers must hold the right to teach the subjects they list, complete identity and payout verification, deliver lessons as described, and comply with applicable laws. Payouts are made through Stripe Connect once verification is complete.

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
• Harass, abuse, or harm another participant.
• Circumvent the platform to arrange or pay for lessons off-platform.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that pose a risk to other users or the platform. Where an account is suspended, any active bookings may be cancelled and refunded. You may close your account at any time from your account settings.

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Daris does not guarantee the quality, suitability, or outcome of any lesson, nor uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Daris is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision, and continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
