Getting paid on Daris from Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Pakistan

If you’re teaching on Daris from Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, or Pakistan, you get paid a little differently from teachers elsewhere. This guide explains how it works, what you’ll need, and when to expect your money.
Who this is for
This guide is for teachers with a bank account in Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, or Pakistan. Stripe Connect doesn’t yet support payouts to these countries, so Daris pays you a different way: we send your earnings ourselves, by bank transfer via Wise. If you’re banking elsewhere, you don’t need this — see our guide to setting up payouts with Stripe instead.
How it works
Students pay Daris up front when they book a lesson. Your earnings accrue to your balance after each completed lesson— there’s nothing you need to do to trigger this. Once a month, we send everyone on this rail their balance by bank transfer via Wise. There’s no need to request a payout or keep track of anything; it happens automatically on the same date every month.
What you’ll need
Setting up payouts is a one-time step, done entirely in-app — you never leave Daris or create an account anywhere else. On the Payouts card of your profile page, you’ll be asked for:
- The account holder name, exactly as it appears on the bank account.
- Your IBAN for that account.
We store these details securely and use them only to send your payouts — access is restricted internally, and they never appear in your public profile.
Currency and fees
Lessons on Daris are priced in GBP. Your payouts arrive in your local currency — EGP, MAD, JOD, or PKR — converted as part of the Wise transfer. Wise charges a transfer fee for each payout, and that fee comes out of your balance rather than being billed separately, so the amount that lands in your account is your balance minus the fee. The breakdown is shown on your Payouts page.
FAQ
When do I get my first payout?
On the first monthly payout run after your balance reaches £20. If your balance is below that when the month’s payouts go out, it simply rolls over and gets included the following month.
What if a lesson is refunded?
Refunds are netted against your balance, so a refunded lesson doesn’t get paid out.
How long do transfers take?
Wise typically completes the conversion and pays into your account the same working day the transfer is sent, though this can occasionally take a little longer depending on your bank.
